The Forest of Skund is a large, magical forest of uncertain location. The Forest of Skund first appears in The Light Fantastic, but there is little clue to its location there. In Witches Abroad Nanny Ogg keeps mentioning a town or area called "Skund." It is uncertain if it is in Lancre or not, but almost certainly in or near the forest of Skund. However, the map in Raising Steam places the Forest of Skund some distance from Lancre, near the town of Seven Bangs in the Sto Plains. It is shown as on the far side of the Carrick Mountains from Lancre.

"Skund" means "Your Finger Your Fool" in the local language. This shares the fate of other unfortunate areas, such as I Don't Know, What, Just a Mountain, and Who is This Fool That Does Not Know What A Mountain Is (Oolskunharod). It is possible the latter is in the same language as Skund, both containing the word fool and the syllable skun.

It is home to magical trees, shamans, and gnomes. According to Moist, the trees stood shoulder to shoulder, dark radiating from it.
