Kring was a magical sword with the ability of speech. It was a black sword forged from thunderbolt (meteoritic) iron. It has highly ornate runic inscriptions running the length of its blade, with a slight nick two-thirds of the way up. A couple of rubies are set within its pommel. Kring speaks to its user in a voice like the sound of a blade scraped upon a stone.
Kring would really like to become a ploughshare rather than a sword, or to have a nice quiet time hanging over someone's mantlepiece. It was once owned by Hrun the Barbarian. Present location unknown. Maybe it got its wish.
Trivia[]
- Kring is a parody of Stormbringer, the sentient crooning black runeblade wielded by Elric of Melniboné, who is perhaps the English writer Michael Moorcock's most famous characters.
