Winder

Lord Winder was a patrician of the city of Ankh-Morpork. He became very paranoid over the years, seeing plots and shadows everywhere and his condition continuously became worse. Eventually, the citizens became very fed up with Winder's strict totalitarianism. His laws included torture for being up after "curfew," and possessing weapons. The people started a rebellion, which was joined by the Night Watchmen of Treacle Mine Road, at that point being led by Sergeant-at-Arms John Keel. Winder was eventually assassinated by Havelock Vetinari in the middle of a crowded hall, who was destined to eventually become patrician, and replaced by Lord Snapcase, who was instantly corrupted by his new found power.
